This is the one I was really looking forward to…and it was bland.


East Towne Café Muffin
One egg, sausage patty, American cheese on grilled English muffin; served with hash browns

The runny egg made this sandwich. Moving on to some of the best HBs I’ve had each strand remain solo, no typical clumping together. They either carried a golden hue signifying crispiness or a pale color showing the soft ones and the whole ensemble was well seasoned.


Décor: The right kind to find for a breakfast place.
Service: Good with a hesitant aspect.

You could skip breakfast with all the freebies at the Milwaukee Public Market. Becoming a regular here is fun to explore the offerings and experience the pulse of the crowd. Awe’s Orchard had Apple Cidar Donuts at the outside farmer’s market. Moving inside Piacentine's Artisian Bread does it once again with Chocolate Cherry Loaf. El Rey World Produce and Hispanic Specialties had samples of Churros and Guava. Lakeside Poultry provided Rotisserie Chicken. West Allis Cheese and Sausage had cheese as usual and even some prepared as hors d’oeuvres. Fields Best had free Bananas and a Honeycrisp Apple was purchased. And I joined the crowd carrying around a drink from Cedarburg Coffee Roastery. Hope no one was tallying how many churros were taken…..

BBQ Tofu
Simple Soyman’s tofu baked in homemade BBQ sauce, topped with carrots, red onions, spinach and vegenaise on a sesame bun

Take the tofu out and this would have been 4 stars. Not only did it have no taste it made this pile unwieldy. The sauce gave seasoning and spice to the veggies and the ‘vegenaise’ adding creaminess.


Décor and Service: Adjoining a natural foods grocery store this place is mostly kitchen with seating for a dozen where the cooks take the orders.
