Dining Out- Week of May 23rd, 2005

The flavor of the month at Cold Stone Creamery is Carmel Latte and the featured creation is Latte Da- caramel latte ice cream with almonds, brownie and fudge.

Fujiyama
West Allis

Miso Soup

Universal at Japanese spots this always seems like a copy. This featured a good broth with a decent amount of tofu and seaweed.

House Salad

You can frown on the iceberg lettuce, but smile that it is fresh and for the cucumbers, carrot and exquisite snappy house dressing.

Shumai, Tuna Rolls and Salmon Teriyaki

A suburb assortment. Delicate yet sticky steamed shrimp dumplings, fresh rolls and flaky salmon bolstered by its accompaniment of the sauce and crisp vegetables.

Décor: 4000 square foot strip mall space dominated by a hibachi grill room and supplemented by a space for table dining including a sushi bar.
Service: They were on top of it.

Jollymon's Cove
Okauchee

Grilled Grouper Sandwich

Nice piece of fish suffered from being too mild. The jerk rub did nothing to impart extra oomph.

Décor: Dining room with a view.
Service: I’ll cut her some slack for recommending the grouper over the jerk chicken.

3 out of 5 stars

The chocolate pie looks awesome. Was that caramel running through with the chocolate?

We will try the Japanese restaurant soon!
