Dining Out- Weekend of February 26th, 2005
Jake's Fairview Cafe
Wauwatosa- 104th & North
Jake's Country Omelette
Bacon, onion and cheese served with Jake's Famous Country Potatoes
On the positive side the eggs were airy. Regretfully, the filling was minimal and the bacon salty. And we couldn't see what was famous about those potatoes. Like the Single torn into three on top?
Decor: 3 tables, large 'L' shaped counter- a good ratio.
Service: Stand up good.

Indigo
Wauwatosa- 59th & North
Pan Fried Catfish with Handcut Steak Fries and Coleslaw
Catfish was decent, but overwhelmed by a large bun. Fries were limp, greasy; and small in number. Over dilled and putrid coleslaw.
Decor: Shimmering bronze drapery matched the burled tabletops and one wall and complimented the other indigo walls and ceiling.
Service: Waitress didn't care I had a poor meal and kitchen was slow.

Mi Perla Tapatia Restaurant Mexicano Y Mariscos
Milwaukee- South 13th St., just north of Lincoln
Camaron Cerviche
Shrimp marinated in lime juice served with cilantro, onion, diced tomato and avocado on a tostado; served cold.
Wonderful brightness and freshness. Each mouthful was of summer in a tropical climate. Fantastic balance with nothing overwhelming the other; a great feat with that lime.
Decor: Cherry space of faux stucco walls, colorful Mexican knick knacks and attractive furniture.
Service: Nice young lady who I was relieved spoke a little English.
