Dining Out- Week of August 22nd, 2005

Libiamo
Milwaukee- 3rd & Cherry
Taking the place of the dated Brown Bottle this newbie has the same owner as Riverwest’s well-regarded Nessun Dorma.
Grape Tomato and Basil with Fresh Mozzarella Bruschetta
So fresh it actually compromised in lightning the taste.
Fried Ravioli
Breaded cheese-filled ravioli, served with homemade marinara sauce
Crisp and dry exterior enclosed a creamy interior.
Black Bean Vegetable Soup
Little bit of an earthy taste, great texture variances and with a respectable quantity of vegetables.
Smoked Gouda and Portabella Stuffed Chicken
Grilled chicken breast stuffed with marinated portabellas, spinach and artichokes in a smoked Gouda cheese sauce. Served with garlic-parmesan orzo and vegetables
The captivating smokiness of the cheese unified all these ingredients which in turn accentuated each other. Used as both a sauce and stuffing the gouda was a delight to mop up with each forkful.
Pesto Chicken Pizza
Homemade pesto sauce, grilled chicken, sun-dried tomatoes, artichoke hearts and fontinella
A well balanced arrangement of savory tastes on a thin crispy crust.
Strawberry Cheesecake
So creamy it fell apart upon the first fork stabbing. So decadent it didn’t need the strawberries.
Décor: Tucked in a sprawling former industrial complex the dining room is updated while still retaining some old world remnants of the past occupants.
Service: Enthusiastic in service and confident in recommendations.
4 out of 5 stars
