Breakfast Burrito
Scrambled eggs, chorizo, tomato, onion and cheddar in a flour tortilla

The sausage and cheese were certainly the stars of this bundle. The uncased chorizo was a patty sandwiching the cheese with the onion and tomato getting lost in this formidable assembly of good eats.


Décor: Looks like any smaller family restaurant, but had a distinct festive feeling.
Service: She could not have been more energetic.

Shami Kabob
Fried fine minced beef and lentil patty with herbs

I kept my choice small and this Pakistani item is crispy skinned with a mushy interior and a heavy dose of spicy seasoning.


Décor: Contradictory to see an old long bar with white tablecloth settings.
Service: Actually followed me outside to ask how I enjoyed my food.

Milwaukee- Walker’s Point

When they moved The Social to new digs in the Fifth Wards the owners kept this space and transformed it into a school themed restaurant/lounge.


Chicken Fingers
Sliced chicken breast coated with pinon and parmesan then pan seared; served over chopped iceburg with honey mustard and BBQ sauce

With gourmet interpretations of cafeteria menu staples like fish sticks, meatloaf, mock chicken and whirled peas I told the chef this was better than anything from school. Then reflected that he’d probably be hearing that a lot.


Décor: The school theme is almost an afterthought to this dim long space of maple floors and handsome tan booths.
Service: Great, and she actually recommended the cheaper of the two things I was considering.
